Accuracy in photovoltaic (PV) module temperature modeling is crucial to achieving precision energy performance yield calculations and subsequent economic evaluations of PV projects. While there have been numerous approaches based on both the steady-state transient thermal assumptions, few attempts account for changing convective cooling surfaces resulting from changes system layout. Changes row spacing, particular, can a meaningful impact electrical efficiency performance, even when considering additional costs spacing. Using heat transfer approach spatial definition array, technoeconomic analyses different plant configurations are presented here that show an improved levelized cost (LCOE) fixed-tilt systems increasing These LCOE improvements found be as high 2.15% climates characterized by low ambient temperatures higher average annual wind speeds U.S. climates. primarily driven incident irradiance altered waterfall analysis components modifications dynamics 0.5% contribution reduction largest LCOE, compared with 3.3% changes.
